Chris Green

Chris Green is a British composer and guitarist with twenty years in the music industry, writing for games, television and advertising. He plays with Port Sulphur Band, who wrote the Hunt: Showdown soundtrack, and runs Blurred Edge, his composition company.

He has spent the last few years working on AI and creators' rights, including at roundtables at the Houses of Parliament, and sits on the committee of PCAM, the Society for Producers and Composers of Applied Music.

He founded Khaos because he got tired of only arguing. Khaos is a free toolkit that lets musicians train an AI model on their own work, on their own hardware, and own the result outright.

Who is Chris Green?

Chris Green is a British composer and performer based in London, and the founder of Khaos. He has written music and sound for games, advertising and broadcast for twenty years, and was Director of Music & Audio at Crytek from 2021 to 2024.

What is Khaos?

Khaos is a free-to-use toolkit that lets musicians train an AI model on their own catalogue, on their own computer, and own the result outright. Nothing leaves the machine unless the artist chooses. Every output carries a record of where it came from and an estimate of which training tracks shaped it. Khaos AI Ltd was founded in 2026 and is on Digital Catapult's Applied AI Growth Sprints, funded by Innovate UK.

Is Khaos open source?

No. Khaos is free to use, but it is not open source.

What has Chris Green worked on?

His credits include Electronic Arts and Criterion titles such as the Harry Potter and Burnout series and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, campaigns for BBC Sport, Oakley and Carlsberg, and documentaries for BBC One and National Geographic. He writes and performs with Port Sulphur Band.

What is his research?

He published a working paper on measuring which training tracks shape each output of a music model, closely enough to divide a payment: Measured Influence (2026), DOI 10.5281/zenodo.23618202.

What is his background?

He trained on the Tonmeister programme and at the Royal College of Music, where he completed a Masters in Composition for Screen. He is a BAFTA member and sits on PCAM's Interactive Music Committee.
